Polychem Customized Blends are mixed and designed to your specifications. We accept custom order sizes as small as 50 pounds, and up to multi-truckloads. We also pack our Customized Blends to your specifications including bulk, pre-weighs and bag-inclusion systems. All to deliver the most convenient solution for your unique business needs. Considerations may include: Mixing dwell time, bag inclusion thickness, type of shear, breakdown and dispersibility, chemical resistance, bag inertness, compatibility, FDA status, mixing temperature.
- 18% ETHYLENE VINYL ACETAT COPOLYMER
- Melting Point: 175-190 °F
- Available Bag Colors: Blue or Red
- Advantages: Medium melting point, chemical inertness, FDA accepted. Better protection against vapor transmission than Lomel® or LM-1 Bags
- Disadvantages: Higher cost than polyethylene
- Stock Bag: 2.0 mil
- Film Range: 1.5 mil-6.0 mil upon customer request
- LOMEL® – ETHYLENE VINYL ACETATE COPOLYMER
- Melting Point: 150-160 °F
- Bag Color: White
- Advantages: Very low melting point, chemical inertness, FDA accepted. Exhibits excellent dispersability and compatibility
- Disadvantages: Higher cost than polyethylene, lacks stiffness. Highest vapor transmission rate. Poor moisture resistance.
- Stock Bag: 2.25 mil
- Film Range: 1.5 mil-6.0 mil upon customer request
- PE-POLYETHYLENE
- Melting Point: 200-235 °F
- Bag Color: Clear
- Advantages: Low cost, high strength, chemical inertness, FDA accepted. Best protection against vapor transmission
- Disadvantages: High melting point, 1st pass mixing only
- Stock Bag: 3.0 mil
- Film Range: 1.5 mil-6.0 mil upon customer request
- LM-1 – ETHYLENE COPOLYMER
- Melting Point: 158-169 °F
- Bag Color: Green
- Advantages: Very low melting point-lowest currently available. Ideal for second pass cycle. Has low water transmission rate.
- Disadvantages: Higher cost than polyethylene
- Stock Bag: 2.0 mil
- Film Range: 1.5-6.0 mil upon customer request
